Finishing the Season: A Look Ahead to National Hunt Racing

Updated: Dec 3, 2025

Reflecting on Recent Races

It's never nice to finish the season off with the body blow we took yesterday. Although two of the wrong 'uns were on the All Weather, we went for a couple of shorties at Doncaster and got our fingers burnt. It's a tough pill to swallow, but that's the nature of the game.

Now that the Flat season has wrapped up, our focus shifts to the National Hunt for the next few months. The All Weather continues, and hopefully, it will settle into providing a decent source of losers. After all, identifying those horses likely to lose is what we do best.

The Start of the National Hunt Season

The "real" National Hunt season kicked off on 1st November. Some trainers are yet to introduce many of their stable, but as we move forward, the data from these stables tends to remain consistent and workable for us. This is where our expertise comes into play.

Understanding the Trainers

As we dive deeper into the season, it’s crucial to keep an eye on the trainers. They have their own patterns and strategies. Some trainers excel in specific conditions or with particular types of horses. By analysing their past performances, we can gain valuable insights.

The Importance of Patience

It's still early in the month, and a couple of good days will paint a better picture. We certainly won't make panic selections chasing any losses. Discipline and sticking to the process and staking is the key. Remember, it’s not about making hasty decisions; it’s about making informed ones.

Strategies for Success

Data Analysis

Data analysis is our best friend. By examining past races, we can identify trends and patterns. This helps us pinpoint horses that are likely to underperform. It’s not just about luck; it’s about strategy.

Bankroll Management

Managing your bankroll is essential. Set aside a specific amount for betting and stick to it. This way, you won’t feel the pressure to chase losses. Instead, you can focus on making smart, calculated bets.

Staying Informed

Stay updated with the latest news in the racing world. Changes in weather, track conditions, and horse health can all impact performance. Being informed allows us to adjust our strategies accordingly.

Conclusion: Looking Forward

As we move into the National Hunt season, let’s keep our heads up. There will be ups and downs, but with the right approach, we can navigate through it. Remember, our goal is to help you consistently make a small income each month by providing expert analysis to identify horses likely to lose.

So, let’s embrace the challenges ahead and stay committed to our process. Together, we can beat the bookies and enjoy the thrill of the races.
