Alternative Markets

There is a slight change to the Daily results sheet that I have backdated to the start of November.

It’s only a small change as regards the results section. Where the selection has lost the race, I have previously placed Lost.  If the same selection has been placed 2nd or 3rd I will include this in brackets i.e. Lost (2).

If there is no bracket after Lost then it finished out of the Top 3 altogether. If the race is one that would only pay the Top 2 places and the Horse finished 3rd, there is no bracket.

I’m doing this to assist members if they wish to use alternative markets when the original selections go outside the price parameter.

I would be mainly interested in the Top 2 market offered by Betfair.

Thus, if there is a high percentage of selections that miss the price parameter and are subsequently out of the Top 2, then this is a market you could use.

I am unable to record data for this as regards price, due to there beings no standard Top 2 market price available at the conclusion of the race. Timeform simply shows the BSP for a place without specifying 2nd, 3rd etc.

As it stands for November, we’ve had 33 correct lays with 7 finishing in the Top 2.

Of these 33, Nine were no bets due to price cut off with 3 finishing in the Top2.

It’s an option for consideration that is unable to be recorded for the site.
